Hey guys!!

i haven't been able to keep xanga up to date. i think the best way i can do this is to cut out pieces of the emails i send to my friends! anyways i've been up to many things these past few weeks. i'm really starting to feel at home here in singapore. it seems like just when i am starting to really feel at home, i'm gonna have to go soon! but i'm also looking forward to all the things i can do in vancouver when i get back!

its amazing how nice some ppl can be. i've been meeting lots of random people here in singapore. it seems like in vancouver, i know tons of ppl and stuff but randomly meeting ppl doesn't happen so often. like i don't go to SFU and if i am on the same elevator or smth as someone, i don't just strike up a conversation and get to know them or nething. for some reason it keeps happening to me here in singapore, and its pretty cool!

like the other day i lost my bus card (ya it sucked...cost me $30 to replace). i lost it at the university cultural center when i was watching a play. then i went and asked if i could check the lost and found. the head usher, named jason took me there and then asked me for my # so that he can tell me if he finds it later. then we ended up txting each other (they do that like crazy here, it really is convenient!) and then i met him for lunch the other day! thats why i didn't seem SOO sad abt my lost bus card cause i got to meet a cool local lol. and today i went hiking with my friends, and we got lost so we asked these people how to get there and it turned out they were on a tour from a company outing. so they invited us to join their bus and we got on their bus and joined the HSBC recreational outing for HSBC employees! its cool how i've met some nice ppl here in singapore..

it'd be cool if i could meet as many ppl as i do here in vancouver! that'd be like a few ppl a month. lol! maybe its cause ppl can tell i'm not a local right away and they're always interested to hear where i'm from and stuff.

another thing--> the guys here are wayyy more gentlemanly than the ones in vancouver. i mean its like they feel like they have to take care of you if you're a girl. like the other day i was having lunch with my co-workers, and at the end of the meal the guys took all our plates for us and cleared them away for me and laura, my friend from pennsylvania. i looked at laura and i was like seriously laura which of our guy friends are gonna do that for us in north america! and she's like none of them. lol. its so true. haha.

anyways you guys can check out my pics, i have a new site, ben made it for me for valentines day. it is: www.benjax.com

i still have to find time to post all my pics, i have too many! g2g now. tty'all later!

Hi everyone! The other day I had the FUNNEST time shopping by myself on Orchard road. Usually I love shopping with my friends, but that day I was supposed to go out with my uncle's family but it turned out that my cousin had a bday party to go to. Rather than sitting in on a kids bday party I decided to bus it up to Orchard. I naviagted through the busy road, including the winding MRT underpass (its like several levels of underground paths benath the street level!) and I asked just about everyone that passed by me questions, like where can i find toys? whats that big building over there? I think what made it so cool was how helpful everyone decided to be. I think people can just look at me and tell that I'm a foriegner. This one guy came up to me to ask me to take a survey. After I began speaking, he's like you're not Singaporean are you? I must be screaming FOREIGNER everywhere I go here. lol. But ya it was cool cause that guy, Andy, ending up going to NUS too! Glad I got to meet a local.

So ya tonight I'm going to Teahouse in Chinatown for dinner with my co-workers. Hopefully they'll remember to speak English! (doubtful!) otherwise it'll be hard to know what they're talking about. (not hard actually..impossible lol) i'd be like ya ok...

Oh ya Ben's put up some pics for me on http://www.sfu.ca/~benc  Thanks Ben you're the best.  g2g for now, ciao.

Hi everyone! yesterday i got to go to the harvey norman basketball game here in Singapore. It was an Australian championship game featuring the Perth Wildcats Vs. the Sydney Kings. The Wildcats were the favorites to win, and I always root for the underdogs and luckily the Kinds won in the end. It was funny how an Australian championship game was held in Singapore. But anyways even though I didn't know any of the players, afterwards the winning team was signing autographs and I must say i got sooo starstruck. I think it's that exciting feeling and also there were girls all around me getting all giddy and scrambling to get autographs. I got them to sign a poster and my ticket lol. Below is a pic of me with one of the players

Well that's all for now! I'll post more later. Ben's helping me with making a site for just pics. I'm not sure how to post a bunch of pics here on Xanga yet... Tonight i'm going to see the Aviator with Alan from Hong Kong. I've been meeting so many international students here that I really wanna learn more languages! i'm surrounded by ppl. who can speak dutch, french, chinese, etc.! I saw a preview for aviator and it looks so good! long though..3 hrs! Seeya!

hi... you guys should be happy to know this is my first BLOG ever. I'm not even sure what BLOG stands for. I just wanted to make a site where I could post some pics and keep my friends and family up to date on what I'm up to in Singapore. I'll be here for 4 months until end of April. It's been about 3 weeks and already i've been getting to know the city pretty well. For those of you who haen't been to singapore yet, it's the prettiest city! It's like they took everything nice in the world and put it here.
